Product Introduction

The braking unit, also known as the "frequency converter exclusive energy consumption braking unit," or the "frequency converter exclusive energy feedback unit," is primarily utilized in scenarios where there is a heavy mechanical load and a need for fast braking speeds. It effectively handles the regenerative energy produced by the motor by either dissipating it through the brake resistance or returning it back to the power supply. This unit ensures precise control over braking and efficiently manages the energy flow in such demanding applications.

The rapid deceleration/stop function can be achieved with the help of a frequency converter. By converting the energy collected on the bus bar into heat energy through the brake unit and brake resistance, the motor can be quickly brought to a stop. It is worth noting that a single power ranging from 30KW to 75KW is capable of supporting multiple parallel applications.

Advantage

The braking unit operates under short-time work conditions, meaning that the power-on time is very brief each time. As a result, the temperature rise during the power-on time is not stable. On the other hand, the time between power-offs is longer and allows the temperature to decrease to the same level as the ambient temperature. Consequently, the brake resistance's rated power is significantly decreased, leading to a reduction in price. Moreover, since there is only one IGBT and the braking duration is in the millisecond range, the power transistor's transient performance requirements are low. It is even necessary to minimize the turn-off time in order to decrease the turn-off pulse voltage and protect the power transistor. The control mechanism is also relatively uncomplicated and easy to implement.

The various benefits that come along with the application of electromagnetic brakes make it a popular choice for use in cranes and other machinery that require quick and efficient braking. These brakes are particularly useful in situations where the load is heavy and there is a need for rapid braking, but only for short periods of time. Due to their effectiveness, electromagnetic brakes have become an increasingly popular option in the industry.
