Grinding Cast Ball

High-quality grinding balls should have the following properties:

(a) Wear resistance: Sufficient wear resistance for cutting fatigue, deformation fatigue and spalling fatigue; high fatigue resistance for cutting fatigue; high fatigue resistance for deformation fatigue and fatigue fatigue, contact fatigue and impact fatigue consumption;

(b) Good impact toughness: It has high impact resistance and will not break under repeated impact and wear conditions;

(c) High hardenability: ensure that the entire φ100mm ball is evenly damaged and does not lose its roundness;

(d) Excellent metallurgical quality: produced according to specified standard components, without casting defects such as slag inclusions and sand inclusions.

Specifically, low chromium balls should be selected for the rough machine grinding chamber and low chromium balls for the fine grinding chamber. For the wet grinding method, low-grinding chromium balls or forged steel balls should be selected, because the wear resistance of high-chromium balls cannot be fully reflected in the presence of corrosion. From the perspective of wear resistance, grinding cast ball produced with metal molds should be selected.

 

The ball loading system must be reasonable:

The ball filling system includes the quality of the grinding cast ball (density, hardness, wear resistance), the size of the steel ball, the filling rate of the steel ball and reasonable addition, etc. Steel balls with large density and diameter have great impact when they fall. Grinding cast ball with high hardness and good wear resistance have strong peeling force. Therefore, for hard and coarse ores, steel balls with large density and large diameter are needed. However, in order to effectively grind fine mineral particles and increase the number of strikes of steel balls per unit time, steel balls with smaller diameters are needed. When the filling rate is constant, the smaller the ball diameter, the greater the number of balls, and the greater the number of hits per unit time.
